Course ~ Alderney Half Marathon


Course......................Alderney Half Marathon & 10 km Fun Run
Home			We have a great new course for you this year, starting at the summit of the island so that most of the first 6 miles are a fast sweeping downhill run. Assemble before the race on the Butes in St Anne Town. There are toilet and baggage facilities, good parking and local shops and cafes nearby. On-the-day entries accepted from 11:00 until 11:40. All baggage can be left at the assembly area and it will be driven to the finish. The start of the half marathon and 10k is at the bottom of Victoria Street at 12 noon. Caution - the first 500 metres will be on cobbles, then smooth roads thereafter. The course will go though the lovely old town of St Anne then out into the countryside to follow the coast road in a sweeping 300ft downhill over the first 6 miles. Click for map (partially constructed at this time). The half marathon then continues around the island for another 7 miles. Map to follow. The course is distance certificated and the race is fully insured. Water stations will be at the start then at 3, 6, 8, 11 and 13 miles. The finish of both races is at "Puffins" beside the Railway Station on Braye Common, where baggage may be collected. There are toilets, changing and showers in "Puffins" at the finish, and there will be a sandwich and a hot drink free to finishers (runners can purchase more, as can supporters). Prizegiving will be held here from 14:40.
